Kathryn Dannay Presents at NE-PACT Conference
Kathryn Dannay has been working with the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN) for almost two years in the development of a Community Template Website for parent centers serving parents of disabled children in the Northeast Region. In May, Kathryn was invited to present the results of the development process, and highlight the outcomes of the various parent centers who have participated. The presentation was made to the Northeast Parent Center Assistance and Collaboration Team (NE-PACT). The presentation also outlined the steps for success for other parent centers and provided an opportunity for a Questions and Session on community websites and functionality, the Drupal content management system - it's benefits and how it is being used, and the results thus far for nonprot organizations.
The Northeast Parent Center Assistance and Collaboration Team (NE-PACT) offers technical assistance for OSEP-funded Parent Centers to enhance their capacity to provide effective services for families of children with special needs and to work effectively with state agencies in improving services for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities in their communities and states.
As the Region 1 Parent Technical Assistance Center, Ne-PACT serves the Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs) in the northeastern states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
