Do I need a new website?

If you are asking the question, "Do I need a new website?", there is usually a reason. Perhaps, you have noticed that other sites generally look and feel different - they have a fresher more styled look. Perhaps, you've noticed other sites that include some nice functionality like a rotating banner, a poll, a blog, or an email sign-up list.

Before investing in a new site, here are some questions to consider:

  1. Has your busines changed? (that is, have you added services or products? have you changed your business focus, offering or target market?)
  2. Has the purpose or objective of the site

So you have a list of friends or colleagues email addresses. Perhaps, they are a list of business contacts who you know would appreciate an update on your work, or notice of a relevant event or workshop, why not just email them?

In general, I caution my clients against using their "own email lists". In the past these may have worked great, but in the online world a number of changes have occurred and it is no longer wise or efficient to use one’s own list via your own email account.

Let’s take a look at some of the reasons to not use your "own list" and to consider using and "email
